Charlie Carter, Sr. ALBANY — Mr. Charlie Carter, Sr., 89, of Leary, GA died on January 18, 2010 at his home. Funeral services were on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Highway 55, Leary, GA. The Rev. Dr. Willie Moore officiated. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Mr. Carter was born on August 16, 1920 in Randolph County, GA. He attended Calhoun County Public Schools and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired production worker with Coats & Clarks Products Company in Albany, GA and was a member of the Deacon board at Spring Creek Baptist. Mr. Carter is survived by his three daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Marshall and Mrs. Janice Carter and her fiancé Larry, all of Leary, GA; Mrs. Rubye Pratte (Julius) of Albany, GA; a very devoted niece, Mrs. Ruby Scott (Earl) of Leary, GA; two sons: Mr. Jimmy Carter of Albany, GA and Mr. Charles Hayes (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family of Mr. Carter will receive friends and relatives at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Marshall of 150 Taylor Lane in Leary, GA.
